Clients

The Clients section manages the client records that portfolios are associated with. Every portfolio in Point belongs to a client.

Client Record

A client record contains:

Client NameThe full legal name of the client
Client CodeA short internal identifier
Client TypeIndividual, Family Office, Institution, etc.
Relationship ManagerThe primary RM responsible for this client
Base CurrencyThe client's preferred reporting currency
StatusActive, Inactive, Prospect
Contact DetailsEmail, phone, address
NotesFree-text notes about the client

Viewing Clients

Navigate to Clients in the left sidebar to see the client list.

Client Detail View

Click on a client to open their detail view:

Portfolios Tab

All portfolios associated with this client, with their total values and latest valuations.

Summary Tab

Aggregated metrics across all the client's portfolios:

  • Total AUM
  • Aggregate asset allocation
  • Combined performance

Documents Tab

Client-related documents (reports, agreements, correspondence) stored against the client record.

Notes Tab

A chronological log of notes about the client.


Creating a Client

  1. Go to Clients
  2. Click + New Client
  3. Fill in the client details
  4. Click Save

Once the client is created, you can create portfolios for them in the Portfolios section.


Client Reporting

To generate reports for a specific client:

  1. Open the client record
  2. Click Generate Report
  3. Select the report template and parameters
  4. Click Generate

This is equivalent to generating a report from the PDF Reports module, but pre-filtered to the selected client.
