How Point AI Works
Point AI draws directly from Point's analytics engine. When you ask a question or request a briefing note:
- Point AI identifies the relevant portfolios, securities, and time periods
- It queries Point's analytics engine for the actual data
- It translates the data into clear, plain-language output
- It formats the output for the requested role and purpose
Unlike general-purpose AI tools, Point AI only uses data from your Point platform. It will not fabricate performance figures, portfolio values, or other metrics. If data is unavailable, it will say so.
Accessing Point AI
There are two ways to access Point AI:
- Chat with AI — click the AI icon in the left navigation for the full chat interface
- Contextual AI — click the ✨ AI button within any portfolio or analytics view to get AI insights in context
