Portfolios
The Portfolios module is the heart of the Point platform. It provides a consolidated view of all your investment portfolios, their valuations, holdings, and performance — aggregated from all your data sources into a single, accurate picture.
What You Can Do
See all portfolios with their total values, latest valuations, and key metrics at a glance.
Set up new portfolios, define their structure, base currency, and associated clients.
Edit portfolio details, update settings, and manage the portfolio hierarchy.
Drill into holdings, performance attribution, and historical valuations.
Key Concepts
Total Value
The Total Value is the current market value of all holdings in the portfolio, converted to the portfolio's base currency using the latest available FX rates.
Latest Valuation
The Latest Valuation date is the most recent date for which Point has complete pricing data for all holdings. This may differ from today's date if some prices are not yet available.
Simple vs Composite Portfolios
- Simple Portfolio — holds securities directly
- Composite Portfolio — aggregates other portfolios (look-through). The total value is the sum of all underlying portfolios.
Portfolio List
The portfolio list shows all portfolios you have access to. Use the controls at the top to filter:
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Search | Filter by portfolio name |
| Hide Portfolios with no Value | Hide portfolios with zero or null total value |
| Hide Simple Portfolios | Show only composite/grouped portfolios |
