Prices
The Prices section allows you to view, manage, and override security prices used for portfolio valuation.
Viewing Prices
Navigate to Securities → Prices to access the price management interface.

Price Sources
Point can receive prices from multiple sources:
| Source Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Market Data Feed | Automated prices from Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or other providers |
| Fund Administrator | NAV prices from fund administrators |
| Manual Entry | Prices entered manually by your team |
| Custodian Feed | Prices received from custodian statements |
Point applies a price hierarchy — if multiple sources provide a price for the same security on the same date, Point uses the highest-priority source. Your administrator can configure the priority order.
Manually Entering Prices
For securities without an automated price feed (e.g., private equity, direct real estate):
- Go to Securities → Prices
- Click + Add Price
- Search for and select the security
- Enter the date, price, and currency
- Select the price type (typically NAV for funds, Close for listed securities)
- Click Save Price
Overriding a Price
If an automated price is incorrect, you can override it:
- Find the price in the price list
- Click the Override button (pencil icon)
- Enter the correct price and a reason for the override
- Click Save Override
Overridden prices are flagged with an ⚠️ icon and the override reason is recorded for audit purposes.
All price overrides are logged with the user who made the change, the original price, the override price, and the reason. This audit trail is available in the Data Quality section.
Missing Prices
When Point cannot find a price for a security on a given date, it flags it as a Missing Price exception. These appear in the Data Quality section.
To resolve a missing price:
- Go to Data Quality → Exceptions
- Filter by type: Missing Price
- Click on an exception to see which security and date is affected
- Either enter the price manually or investigate why the automated feed didn't provide it
Price History
To view the full price history for a specific security:
- Open the security detail view (via Securities → View)
- Go to the Prices tab
- The chart and table show all historical prices with their sources
You can filter the price history by:
- Date range
- Price source
- Price type
